Why are they called "NON-directional tires?"
They are designed to run in both directions, right?
If they were designed not to run in either direction, they could very well be called NON-directional.
But since they are designed to run in TWO directions, wouldn't they be "BI-directional tires" or "OMNI-directional tires?"
And while we're at it, if a football field is entirely flat, why do the announcers say that the quarterback tosses a screen pass "out into the FLATS?" Don't they mean "out into the FLANK?"
Inquiring minds need the answers.
