have talked with two rebuilders in southern california about rebuilding my 42 command car engine. one estimate is $1500-$2000, just bring it in. the second one will dismantle engine see what it needs and he thinks $1700-$2000 (he just did an M-37) then either I go ahead, or pay him $100 and take the torn down engine someplace else. also said bring all parts pieces that I would like dipped/stripped as he going to do the engine anyway. sounds fair to me.
