how do I install the window cranking mechanism

I am about to replace the windows back into the doors of my ffpw. They have been out for a long time and I'm not sure of the process or steps on how to get the cranking mechanism back in correctly. Also the felt material is very deteriorated. Anyone know a source for replacement material?
