There are a lot of PWs in Alaska. Most are well used. They are often used for fishing and other such heavey work.
I agree the inside passage is beyond words. Flying a float plane is really fun. My friend up there had one and we flew a lot. He switched from floats to wheels to skis depending on the season. Landing on a wind swept frozen lake is quite an experience. There is absolutly no breaking available with skis and little friction on the smooth ice. (pucker time) on smaller lakes.
