I think the others have given you good advice. If I were you, I'd consider spendin gthe money to either have it professionally towed, or rent a larger vehicle to tow with, such as a dual wheel U-haul box truck , or something like that. I would not even consider hauling an M37 with a 1/2 ton truck.
I used to pull a 10' popup trailer with my old Jeep Wrangler. I had to lay on the brakes one time when some ying yang cut me off. I'll tell you, I saw my life pass before my eyes when that trailer started going one way, and the front end of the Jeep the other. Fortunately the whole rig straightened out very quickly, but its an experience I'd rather not go through again. Had I had a larger vehicle that trailer probably wouldn't have done anything. But since the trailer and the Jeep were fairly matched up in mass and in weight, it was not a good situation.
