Some cars used a verticle stud for a accelerator linkage. Maybe the same stud as in your manifold? or 3 inchs long? My 53 FFPW has a short bolt in that hole. The pipe plug over #6 is the hole for timing, 1 and 6 are the same, 360 degrees apart.
