Source of noise found

It appears the noise was coming from the rear differential. Maybe a pinion bearing.
Does anybody know with certainty , about interchangability between M37 and Wm300 differentials. It seems the only modification would be to change the drive flange . With a new seal of course. Is this incorrect? Thanks
