A few years ago the word around here was that the people across the river from me in Fredericksburg, Va. really had to turn on the pressure to prevent Wal-Mart from trying to build a store next to/on the site of George Washington's boyhood farm!
I wonder what will happen now that economic reasons can trump other factors to allow development.
