Starter breakage AGAIN!?!?!?!?!

My 48' broke another nose cone yesterday, but this time I figured out what happened. Apparently the bendix stuck, with the gear out when the motor started, it snapped the nose cone, and unfortunately, took three teeth off the ring gear. The gear was actually stuck out when I pulled the starter, and when I tapped on it with a hammer it snapped back into place.

So, does anyone know if the flywheels on these are "balanced" to the engine??? Has anyone ordered one from the local NAPA store??? Can I just get the gear from NAPA, and have them install it on the flywheel??? I'll also probably purchase a different starter. Where is the best place to buy a starter??

Any advice, opinions, or suggestions are much appreciated
