I bet you could design a leaf spring to articulate as well or better than the '96 Dodge coils if you set your mind to it.

The coil setup without a winch, could give you a really great approach angle.

I have never liked the look of coil springs under the fenders of 1930's hotrods when I've seen it done. I don't think I'd like it on a Power Wagon either. If we can dig up photos of that Carryall in Texas set on a 24V chassis, you'll be able to see what I mean.

I am getting ready to put M37 springs under a 3/4-ton WC. They flex a lot better than WWII sptings, and I've heard several people rmark how smooth their M37 rides. My setup will also be getting the shackles on the rear of the front springs like the M37.
