Howdy:
I like my Cummins truck, But I want a Sweptline in a bad way. I am getting sorta tired of having tons and tons of vehicles around to keep up on. Seeing I only run my Diesel in the Summer, and a Sweptline would be a Summer only truck, I am thinking of making a 1969-1971 Dodge W-200 with a 5.9 Cummins in it. My '91 Cummins truck is getting ruff and needs alot of mechanical and body work. I am debating between finding a decent 69-71 W-200 and shoehorning my Cummins into it, or else, just pulling the modern sheetmetal off the '91 Chassis, and putting a decent Sweptline body onto it and calling it done. I can see alot of advantages to putting the older body onto the newer frame. For one thing, the '91 has the following things the Sweptline would not have: Cummins Diesel, Dana 60 front, Dana 70 rear, Power Steering, disk breaks, easier to get parts for the newer chassis. Has this been done yet? has anybody here ever put a Sweptline body on a '72 up frame? How did it turn out? What was the end result? Thanks guys!
