A few decades ago When I was an aspiring mechanic. I was assigned to remove the teeth from a dozer blade. Suffice to say they were uncooperative. I worked most of the afternoon and was able to remove one tooth. Sailor, the mechanic who was training me came around and grinned at me. Asking if I was ready to learn the easy way.
He handed me a bottle of coke and a churchkey. I told him the coke was too warm to drink and he informed me that it wasn't for drinking. I was instructed to pour a bit on each tooth and continue until the coke was gone. He then told me to put away my tools and go home. When we returned in the morning we walked out to the blade and he pointed to a shoulder on one of the teeth and told me to give a good pop with the hammer. When I did the tooth came flying off and smacked me in the shin. I was so amazed at the tooth coming off that I didn't realize for some time that I was bleeding profusely from my shin. The rest of the teeth released their hold just as easily. I don't know what chemical process was at work, but work it did. I have used it a few times since with varying success.
I wonder if anyone else has encountered this rust remedy.
