I am going to look at a squished 96 Dodge 1500 tomorrow. It is supposed to have been sitting since 96 and has some thing like 28000 miles on it. It has a 318 , 5 spd and a transfer case.

How do I know what tranny is in this thing. The 96 2500 and 3500 came with the NV4500. What came in the 1500 ?
Is there anything I can look for that would help me ? I have never seen one and have no idea what to look for.

9 inch Ford - no problem , 33 ford 34 ford grill- no problem24 27 Chrysler anything - No problem .

But this is too new for me.
