I really don't care how much energy or money it takes to produce ethanol. I get satisfaction in knowing that at least a small fraction, of the 10 to 15 percent of every dollar I spend on ethanol blend, goes to line the pocket of an American farmer, and NOT to decorate the mansion of some mideast oil Sheik in gold and marble. I would rather pay twice the amount for 85% ethanol blend than what I pay now for mideast oil if I knew that the money was benefiting my neighbors. I've been to too many farm auctions where land is sold that has been in the same family for generations.
Yes, this whole issue strikes a nerve with me. I just bought a NOS mid '70s Lee denim jacket off of ebay because I found out that I can no longer buy an American made Lee jacket at my local farm store to replace the one I bought there in 1980 and have been wearing since.
POWER-WAGON content: the '47 WDX and '51 B3PW run just fine on ethanol blend.
