Look at some 'rental' trailers, the axle is about 60% of the load zone rearward. I think they are extreme, but you get the point. Then load so the bumper drops- as much as if you stood on the bumper, or more. You want 10% tongue weight, so 225# of mechanic would do for a 2200# load, double the drop for 5,000#? but then, too much tongue weight will lighten the steering of the truck, so then you need an equalizer hitch, or a Gooseneck.....
