If you have a qualified person do the job who is familiar with split ring wheels, I would think you'd not have any problems. From all that I've read about split ring wheels, the danger arises when someone attempts to change tires to either a tire that isn't menat for this type of wheel, or does not know how to properly mount them and the ring comes off. This just happened to a guy in Easton Pa the other day. Two guys were changing tires on a dump truck, when one of them was airing one of them up, the ring let go and killed him.
