Seen several posts on this subject in the past but never realy checked after a long drive. I took a 30 mile drive pulling steep hills the last 12 miles, average speed was 40+ mph. The Transfer Case, Transmission and both Differentials were just barely warm, not even hot at all. So if yours is getting hot to the touch might be time to look into things. I was told the Skid Plates might cause over heating but they don't make a difference as for heat build up. I am running 80/140 weight in all cases. Mark H.
