Ken,
I'm pretty sure he means just some hand dies a guy would use to bang out a damaged fender. Maybe he has a power hammer or another machine that can be used to straighten body pannels but there is no such press that can straighten one of our fenders in one shot. Once a fender is dented the damaged metal is stretched & needs to be shrunk either by heat or machine...it can't just be put in a big magic press & put back nice again.
The other problem is the original process was done in more than one machine. The fender would be formed in a press & then the wire rolled into the lip of the fender in a different machine & then the bracket riveted on. Without cutting the rolled edge of the fender back off...these fenders would not fit into the dies like Dodge would have originally used....know what I mean?
