Even if you clean out the whole engine, you should still use non-detergent oil unless you convert to a full flow oil filter.
Detergent oil keeps the dirt suspended in the oil. If you aren't filtering 100% of the oil (a stock oil filter doesn't) you are recirculating the dirt past your bearings and they will wear faster.
It is better to let the dirt build up in the pan and the crankcase walls than circulate it through your bearings.
