M-37 Question

Greetings...

My nephew just purchased a project 1953
M-37 that he found at a local 4x4 salvage yard. He says he thinks it has a 4 cylinder diesel engine.

Did M-37's come with diesels? If so, are they rare or just another option?

Whats the best web site (other than this one, of course)for him to research M-37's on?
