318 and W100 serial # ID

I purchased a 318 from a W100, however the previous owner was unsure of the year of the truck, although he did think the engine was original. The truck serial # is 2181817949, and the # on the left front of the engine block is PM 318 R 23531117. Can anyone help with identification? Thanks.
