Why do people call VC / WC Dodges Power Wagons ?

They aren't, of course. I believe power Wagon as a name originated post WW2 with the WDX (hey - I'm blushing already if I'm wrong) but it is very common to see a WC 54 called a Power Wagon Ambulance or the like.

Of course with lots of interchangeable parts maybe we should gently correct folks and just get on with fixing and running any old Dodge we find - I have one that doesn't even have (shock - horror) four wheel drive.
