Chris,

You are right about clutches pushing with hundreds of pounds of pressure. The difference is, it is not 100% of the time. A mis adjusted clutch or a ballooned converter is and that is what will take out your thrust with relatively little pressure. I used to have some paper work from one of the bearing manufacuters explaining it. I have not seen it for several years now. I am not sure but I don't think line prssure has anything to do with pressure on the crank. AIK an auto should never put pressure on the crank, should it?

Didn't even want to think about the math. Made my head hurt just reading it=)
