hemi for 56 PW

Has anyone put a 270 Dodge hemi in a flat fendered PW? I have purchased a 1957 270 CI Dodge hemi with stick trans out of a 57 Dodge dump truck. I can't pick it up until spring as it is located in the north country. Anyway, I have a 56 PW and I think that it would be a blast to put a baby hemi in it. Does anyone know if the trans in my 56 PW will bolt up to the bell houshing on the Hemi? I have rebuilt the Trans in my PW and don't really want to have to rebuild another one. As near as I can find out the hemi weighs less than the 6 and it is shorter in length. The hemi has about 40 more horse pw and will give me about 1000 rpm more operating range which should work better with the low gearing on the highway.
