I had the same problem 30 years ago. I had a 62 Ford F250 that I knew was way overloaded but couldn`t afford a bigger truck. 750x16 8 ply tires would last about 20000 miles and come apart. I found some 14 ply forklift tires and put on it. Within 3 months the inside lip cracked apart like yours. I noticed it seemed to have a flat spot on the tire and when I checked the inside lip was standing out about a 1/2" 8" long on the inside of the wheel. The lock ring on the outside was stronger. I started looking for a bigger truck then. The tires were so stiff they flexed the rim.
