I am using firefox and in the set up you need to tell it to mark threads as read. You can pick the color. Also, I downloaded from Mozilla an exec that allows you to mark a post as read without opening it. You can also mark a whole bunch of posts as read without opening them. Maybe the demon left my machine as in yours.
