Open letter to Dennan Overdrive:
I would love to be able to make an educated decision on whether to put one of these in my truck. Every time someone mentions it or posts a picture, I get interested again.
The bottom line is:
If the manufacturer of anything WANTS TO SELL HIS PRODUCT then he should:
DESIGN A USEFUL PRODUCT
SET UP A MANUFACTURING PLAN
ADVERTISE
GET A TOLL-FREE NUMBER
GET A WEBSITE
APPOINT A DEALER NETWORK
PRINT BROCHURES AND MAIL THEM OUT
SUPPORT THE PRODUCT IN THE AFTER-MARKET
TALK IT UP
So far, only step one has been completed. I would hesitate to purchase a product that cannot be found, except by word of mouth, and presumably would not be supported downstream.
Judging from the perennial interest here and other places, it would seem that this is a product that could sell. There are plenty of trucks out there that could use one. Unfortunately though, it seems to be yet another example of a hobby product.
Maybe I'm wrong. I hope so. I want one. But why should I play hide-n-seek?
