NEED HELP FOR TIRE SIZE

Asking all you experts out there, I have a '41 WC open cab, what was the tire size when it ran out of the dodge brothers plant? I have come across conflicting data one saying 7.00 x16 another 7.50 x 16, now the truck has been dualed up in the past, if that would be the case sould the narrower tires be put on the rear or is there not enough differance to matter and in that case go with the 7.50. does anyone know of a sorce for these tires in ND in new or used, I am in WA. Thanks
