When I installed a factory approved retofit ROPS on my IH tractor, it called for around 500 foot/# of torque on the nuts as I recall.
A machinist friend had a snap-on (I think) torque multiplier tool he loaned me. This fit on my 1/2" torque wrench and worked like a champ. It allowed me to get pretty close to the correct torque.
