guys.
I converted my 1941 wc-12 from its original 6 volts to 12volts. I decided I finally want to have a working fuel gauge!
I recently bought from Midwest Military a new 12 volt sending unit. He sells the two wire type as my in dash fuel guage is a two wire unit, with one for the power. (three wires total)
My original Civilain square gauge is 6 volt.
MY question is, what value of resistor do I need to put in line to this guage so it works properly.
What type to use, where did you get it, etc? Is it a simple ceramic resister?
Or do I use a voltage reducer as sold at NAPA and other stores?
JC Whitney sells a 12v to 6 v resister, but I am wondering what i should use as the dodges senders and guages are supposed to be matched, so I guess the value of resistance should be specific?
second, where in line? I assume from the power source to the guage, correct? not one of the lines coming from the sender?
Anything else I need to know? seeing as these civy guages were also used on early power ewagons I am sure any of you have had this same problem.
thanks
