They certinly are "Scarce" in Canada it sounds like, except for around your place Marty :)
I certinly don't want to get into a debate about what it costs to restore one, heck for 10K you can barely afford to buy a wreck and repower it (nice enough that you could sell it that is) much less restore one, on that we agree!
But.. Just because they are not seen around those area's does not make them "Rare" but maybe my definition of "Rare" is different than most..
Websters say's
Rare-....not completely cooked!.....Just kidding.
Rare-... Not frequently encountered, scarce,uncommon.
That would seem to be the case in the big citys...But... In a global sense these are not rare nor are they Scarce, we see them on Ebay and here FS all the time. Yes The country has more trucks than the big citys but shipping is not a problem $$ solves all doesn't it? haha.
How many trucks in Thailand? How many does Dave have in Iowa? I can count over thirty trucks within 30 miles of my house! Rare? No
Scarce in the citys, sounds like it.
Rare to me would be an original FFCC, not CC sammys re-creation but a real coach manufactured FFCC now that is hard to find.
There are many more trucks out there than people who want them, that is what it boils down to I guess in my mind.
Mostly I just wanted to throw some life back in the forum (yawn yawn lately) So I tried to pinch a nerve by bringing this up.
Character truck....Hmmm I like that!
I guess I fell in love with these trucks for the ruggedness, sheer mass and the fact that they were different, shiny paint and a comfy spot in the garage next to another $40,000 new car wasn't what I had in mind haha. Some trucks live a better life than I do haha.
