The state of Alaska DOT mechanics use a treatment called One Step. I believe it is a GM product, but can check when I get home and repost tomorrow. It is resistant to salt and corrosion and they use it to treat all the frames of their snowplow trucks. As with the POR, this states not to try and clean down to shiny metal. I've used a quart of it on my FF and so far so good. It is also pretty spendy, but cheaper than POR. I bought it at the local NAPA store.
