The steering boxes used in 1960 and older use a long shaft that goes from the inside of the steering box to the steering wheel. The worm gear is pressed onto it. I know it is the same box from aprox 1954-1960, but I am not sure the shaft is the same, as the steering wheels changed. The cover around the shaft changed, but this is a cosmetic peice, and does not effect the steering box.
1961-66 TW/TPs use a two piece setup, the box is seperate, and joins up to a removable steering column.
This is what Joe has a picture of.
I think the actual steering column is different on 61-66 TW/TPs, but to my understanding the steering box is the same on D100, D200, W100, W200 trucks of all types, from at least 1961-67, maybe later.
The drivetrain on a 61-66 W100 TW is basicly the same as a 61-66 W100 pickup, all are SWB, and looking at the bare frames I have not been able to detect any obvious differences.
The cab mounts may be moved a couple inches, or the back of the frame might be cut at an angle instead of straight (the angle cut is how you tell the SWB frame from a 58 Town Wagon/Panel apart from a 58 Pickup at least) but for Joe's needs all the parts are the same from the frame down.
Of course I have spent WAY more time studying the 54-60 trucks then I have the 61-66 (plus most of the trucks I have studied in 61-66 have been TW/TPs), so there may be some flaw in my thinking, but this is what I remember.
Joe, if you let me know what specific parts you are wondering about I will check my parts books for you.
Eric
