As Chris said all trucks use divorced transfer cases into the 70s, so yes a 68 should be divorced unless modified.
Other issues to consider though are which NP435 is it, and is it a mechanical or hydrolic cutch.
The NP435 from 1964-1967 (maybe 68 I forgot) is shorter then the later model, as the early one has the rear engine mounts on the bellhousing (great for a PW/M-37 install) and the later one has the rear mount on the back of the tranny. This makes the later setup longer, and harder to install in the M-37/PW.
As long as you are buying the parts, you might as well buy the right ones as a set if you can.
