Break Free CLP(Cleaner Lubricant Protectant) performs remarkably well as an "all-in-one" for firearms maintenance. In some testing done by a gent on a cruffler listserve a few years back Break Free was at the top of the heap for corrosion protection. Testing was done on gun barrel steel.
I hesitate to use Kroil on a firearm as it contains phosphoric acid. Otherwise, I think Kroil is as good as anything for the purpose of penetrating lubricant used to loosen frozen parts(bolts nuts etc).
I use Break Free as the last step in my gun cleaning regimen. It would be the only solvent I use on cosmolene-free firearms if it were cheaper.
It can be found at Walmart, Gart Bros, etc.
