Today is New Year's holiday for me, so I made a trip to Rock Springs to see Steve Wataha's newest Power Wagon restoration. It's dark blue and has oak side rails on a flatbed. This truck is truly the finest one that Steve has turned out to date! I'll go over again in a few weeks to get some pictures outside and take it for a test drive!
I also stopped in Green River and checked out a '57 Dodge Town Wagon advertised there. That thing is the absolutely best unrestored Town Wagon I've ever seen. The original owner had it converted from 2-wheel drive to 4-wheel drive in the '60's. It has WWII weapons carrier differentials and a single speed transfer case professionally installed. It has the 315 poly V-8 and runs very nicely. The mileage is about 38,000. There are 2 dents in the entire vehicle, and there's absolutely no rust anywhere. It's been stored in a garage since 1982, so this is one of those 'found in barns' trucks that you always hear about. Bottom line is I bought it, mostly to keep some kid from turning it into a mud bogger or such. This TW is so pristine it would be a shame to let that happen to it. If anyone is interested in buying this TW and treating it right, please let me know. I gave $1300 for it and will give anything over $1300 back to the original owner, since he is retired and needs the money. I will also make a generous donation to Joe's Forum and to Gordon Maney's Forum. I will be posting some digital pictures on Gordon's Power Wagon Advertiser Forum soon.
