Try a scrap yard out of town? Not all the ranchers use then all up as grinder bases. I do know they are so tuff cause of the way they're rolled. Instead of rolling a long ribbon of steel through consecutive rolls, they cut a square of the thick material, roll it once, turn 90 degrees, roll again, repeat til thinness reached. This forces each crystal flat rather than into long strands, allowing flex both ways. Not appropriate for leaf springs for instance, they only need to flex one way.
