they are designed to run 3200 RPMs at 55 MPH. I do it everyday, but I also rebuild and balance my engines. the oone I am running now is probably 6 years old and waS DRIVEN DAILY FOR ABOUT 3 1/2 years. When you exceed 3200 for long period you will damage the bearings as the oil barrier between the bearing and the journal gets thinner. That is kind of the rulle with all older industrial engines. No sustained RPMs wobve 3200 for long periods of time.
