I have a friend who is restoring a 1/2-ton Carryall. (He does not visit this site often.) He is painting his Carryall Navy colors and has done extensive research on this subject.
It seems that the earliest WWII Dodges were painted black for the Navy. They then moved onto olive drab and later grey with some yellow ones mixed in there too. There did not seem to be any real standard for Navy vehicles. Some were grey and yellow (two-tone).
In most cases, standardized military vehicles were assigned to the Navy. They were painted the standard olive drab as they came off the line, then painted Navy colors after they were delivered. Most of these will have the "Navy color" only on the outside skin of the vehicle and will have the olive drab paint everywhere else.
Also, as far as grey goes, there were various shades used by the Navy on their vehicles and equipment.
As I said, this was all for early and pre WWII vehicles. They probably standardized later on.
