Sounds like it might have been a ratio adapter to correct the speedo for different tires or different ring and pinion such as going from 5.83 to 4.98's. I have a ratio adapter on my Bumblebee and Carryall. Got them from George Wellman. He is listed in parts suppliers on the first page of this forum
