Two stage or single stage

Just looking for pro's and con's of either.
The short, of the long of it, is that I paid a shop to paint my cab single stage. They painted it two stage, and did a very inconsitant job and it looks real bad.

So, before I reassemble, I was thinking of having a different shop sand and repaint the cab. The bed and the fenders have not been touched yet. I originally though of single stage for cost,and easier to touch up. Am I right in thinking this?
