Both shows have incredible things if you don't find what you are looking for. Both shows are a great place to buy tools, parts, and get information about new products on the market.
For you information Carlisle has 8,000 vendor spaces and Hershey has 12,000 vendor spaces. Two years ago I met a gentleman from Capetown, South Africa, who along with 8 other South Africans chartered a 747 Cargo jet to acquire parts, cars, whatever turned them on. This gentleman was hunting Rolls and Deusenberg cars and parts. Prices can go either way, high or low, but mostly high. (It is a collector's show.) Three years ago a man on my row had a late 40's Ford Woody. Or should I say he had waht was left of a late 40's Ford Woody. All that was there was a chassis, a front left fender, firewall with the windshield and a loose rear fender laying across the chassis. Need I say it was done in a fine coat of brownish-red oxide. He posted a sign $4800 or best offer. It sold on the first day of the show though I don't know the actual sale price.
A lot of Europeans come to these shows to purchase American cars. If you have never been to either of these shows, go, treat yourself to a smorgasborg of vintage anything automotive.
Incidentally, the Hershey show is October 7-9.
