W prefixes are 4WD, D prefixes are 2WD. The hundred series refers to the GVW, 100 is nominal 1/2ton, 200 nominal 3/4 ton, etc. Dodge switched to the "150" designation about 1978 or so, to keep up with the Ford F150. So, a D100 (or D150) is a 1/2 ton 2wd truck. A W150 (or W100) is a 1/2 ton 4wd.
