If it got cold enough to freeze, the squealing sound could be the water pump belt sliding over the water pump pulley. Check for ice in the radiator. Sometimes a frozen engine doen't blow the freeze plugs or damage the block....but usually it does both. Warm it up and add water, if it doesn't run out you might get lucky!
