I think Eric is right. All the VCs were made for the military, but you might remember seeing a VC 'WOODY' on here a while back that was obviously a VC Command Car with a woody body built on post war.
If you find the frame number just have a look at where it comes on my V series on line list. It is probably a VC command or open cab pickup with a body added?
If the numbers lie outside of those listed it could be an ordianry half ton with either VC or WC half ton equipment bolted on. If it has an original rear mounted fuel tank with the support crossmember and a transfer case crossmember it would originally have been military.
While I'm here - my deal for a spare VC military front axle has faded away, so if anyone has a VC military front axle they don't need .... ? Some where around L.A. or Norfolk Virginia would be ideal for reasons too complex to go into here.
