Back around 1958 and 1959 Chrysler Built 6, expiremental prototypes for the army. These trucks are 2.5 ton capacity. These are 8 wheel drive, amphibious trucks known as the XM410. They ran a militarized version of the 361 Engine with a special auto trans with push button shift, and a full time type of transfer case. The body is all aluminum, the suspension is IFS with disk brakes on all 8 wheels. The front 4wheels turn. The tires are 14X18 Goodyear floatation tires mounted on Aluminum rims that take the same 5 lug bolt pattern as Power Wagon wheels. The truck he has here is believed to be prototype #6. Prototype #1 is believed to be living in Dryden Michigan, about 25 miles from me, and 2 other prototypes are located in Northern Michigan. I have been able to account for 4 of the 6 of them so far. Parts for these are Custom, one offs. EVERYTHING has to be custom made for them, except for the engine. I been researching them for the last 4+ years. Email me sometime, and I will see if I can send you a pic of one of them.
