As a matter of fact we have an odd situation here. Our Pws already have much articulation provided by frame design. Someone thinks they need more or different articulation using lighter springs. In years passed, the problem with over extended articulation was addressed by companies providing modified frame conversions (the swivel mod.) A few years ago someone came up with a mod. for a rear cab mounting system that allowed (the cab) to pivot at the rear mount eliminating the twist cab fractures caused by an over articulating frame. There are many way to solve what might be seen as limitations of function in our PWs. Brake problems were first addressed w/vac.boosters, then Tim Peterson's disc brake conversion. Power steering, engine conversions ,electric wiper motors.etc., have made the PW experience more comfortable and gave them a facelift or new life. There are some trucks that should be kept original but others are prime candidates for a makeover. These trucks still make fine work trucks and are very durable when properly maintained.
If US Bodysource's fiberglass parts weren't so expensive ,it would be a fine solution to building a more modern,PW looking vehichle utilizing more modern frames, drivetrains, and creature comforts for building everyday drivers. The real concern I have is that when upgrades are done that even the old parts be saved, just in case!
