Well, just my 2, but seems that the boom would be moving in a upward arc from rest. As it moves up the end is moving outward from the truck in a circular motion up, and reaches the farthest horizontal point from the truck. At the same time it is at maximum load and then in the next instant the boom end is actually reversing direction of pull, intead of away from truck in arc it returns in the arc towards the truck. At the point of maximum lift pressures, from boom at the farthest point of arc from chassis, and then reversal of motion it's oh, OH, NOOoooo!
That's also a contributing factor in busted connecting rods, and for the same reasons!
