Bery, Bery, Funny Terry...ha!ha! Just because the one in the Parts Pile doesn't run yet, doesn't mean I haven't played a mechanic on TV....= )
Jon,
I also had my local Napa Machine Shop do the honors on mine, the mechanic/machinist had a Hemi in there already and knew all about the Poly. Pistons are plentiful, a good machinhist will check for taper and alignment before boring. There is a lot of meat in that Poly block, so all it means is that you may end up with a 340 Poly instead of a 318...= ) They were VERY reasonable and the hot-tank and cam bearing installation was a plus.
I have sources for new Cams, and I can tell you what Mopar Performance, 318LA parts will also work on the Poly. Don't listen to that 318LA is better garbage, the LA is a fine motor, but about HALF the capabilities of the baby hemi.
