Parabolic springs

I have been trying to learn about springs in hopes of being able to convert my 1 ton suspension into something more cushy. I have come across lots of references to old Land Rover's being fitted with "parabolic tapered leaf springs" in lieu of the original elliptical springs. It sounds like a big improvement that would also do nicely on the PW. Does anybody have any experience with this? Any idea how hard it would be to get a setup for a PW?
